The year is 2020. Minneapolis – my city – is going through some tough times
Recently, with the city all but shut down due to the coronavirus epidemic, I walked out on the new Franklin Avenue bridge and looked at that familiar skyline across an expanse of bright new highway. Interstate 35W was in the middle of a years-long reconstruction when the virus hit; but work has continued. A just-completed section of highway, an energetic sky, and an absence of traffic, combined to create an image of a brand new city with great possibilities ahead.

I hope that vision becomes reality.
